Loews Heart of House visual ID
The “Heart of House” at each Loews Hotels is the space our team members spend most of their time working – our kitchens, laundry, and engineering departments live here. Typically located in the basement and/or sub-basement of our hotels, these spaces are not guest-facing and do not often resemble the grandeur of lobbies and guestrooms. In 2016, the Brand Design Studio was tasked with developing a graphics system to help refresh the spaces and elevate each hotel’s local character. The visual ID package includes multi-lingual patterns, directional signage and motivational graphics, while displaying key hotel metrics and reinforcing the company mission. Working with two designers, I oversaw this 18-month project and collaborated with the corporate communications team, property engineering teams, and external vendors to adapt, customize and install at each of our 25 hotels and offices in the United States and Canada.
